Chair of Board of Trustees

Justice in Motion is looking for a new Chair for our Board of Trustees as we enter this next phase of growth and development.

“Justice in Motion is a fantastic organisation at a critical stage in our growth as a company. While I was inspired to join the board based on the track record of delivering awe and thought inspiring pieces, it is our future that excites me the most. Social injustice surrounds us, but is often largely invisible in the day-to-day. In an increasingly divided world the performing arts have a critical role to play in shining a light on injustice, and personal and emotional engagement with these issues, which is so key to ensuring lasting change in society.

If these issues and our chosen art form speak to you, we would love to discuss how you can help to lead us into our next 10 years of always moving, creating change.”

Matt Francis – Interim Chair

We are looking for someone with extraordinary leadership skills who shares our passion and vision to inspire people, using the performing arts to make a difference in society.

Are you an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about the performing arts and social justice? Are you able to lead the board and the organisation with intelligence and empathy? If so, please get in touch.

We are less interested in previous experience than we are in your ability to demonstrate strong leadership, a commitment to equity and diversity, and a knowledge of the public sector and charity status.

If you want to help change the world for the better, contact us.

We encourage everyone interested in the role to get in touch with our Artistic Director Anja Meinhardt for an informal chat before making an application.

We are particularly keen to have a more diverse board representative of the population. We welcome applications to the Board of Trustees from anyone who has a disability, people from the global majority and individuals earning less than the national median wage. Formal qualifications are not required for the role but we are looking for passion, drive and skills, irrespective of your background.

Send your CV and a letter explaining why you want to be Chair of the Board of Trustees to the email address below. If you have access needs you can send a video or audio file or let us know what format is more appropriate for you.

Closing date for applications is Sunday 19 June 2022.

Interviews will be held via Zoom during the week commencing 4th July 2022.
