RESISdANCE Exhibition Oxford: Portrait & Audio Installation for Refugee Week

📅 Monday 16 – Saturday 21 June 2025
📍 Oxford Library

In recognition of Refugee Week 2025, Justice in Motion presents RESISdANCE—a portrait and audio installation hosted at Oxford Library. This powerful exhibition runs from Monday 16th to Saturday 21st June, inviting the public into a space of reflection, empathy, and artistic engagement.

RESISdANCE is a tribute to the courage and complexity of the refugee experience. Through striking photographic portraits and intimate audio recordings, the exhibition captures the raw and resilient stories of those who have been forced to flee their homes. It gives voice to pain, hope, transformation, and the beauty of survival—challenging audiences to consider both the plight and power of displaced people.

The exhibition is part of our ongoing work with refugee communities, particularly women who have arrived in the UK from Ukraine, Syria, and beyond. RESISdANCE holds space for both vulnerability and resistance. It invites viewers to witness the real and nuanced stories behind migration headlines—and to connect with the people living them.

Visitors are welcome to experience the exhibition at their own pace throughout the week during regular Oxford Library hours. No registration is required.

This installation is free and open to all.

Justice in Motion thanks Oxford Library, BIPC Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire County Council, Oxford University Ukrainian Society, and soloveUAgency for their support in making this exhibition possible.

Whether you have five minutes or an hour, we invite you to pause, listen, and engage with these stories of resilience.
