About this Event

Want to join in an Online Dance Flashmob to send your heart and body soaring?

Moving Together uses dance and music to improve mental wellbeing and connection with others.

Learn the moves in advance with our team of dancers as they demonstrate and teach in a series of workshops. You can take part in as many workshops as you wish. Then join in with everyone to dance together online and in a crowd. No dance experience is required.

Join dancer/choreographer Junior Cunningham in this online dance workshop and learn some of the moves you’ll need to get the most out of our Moving Together online flashmob experience.

Dance to a specially created soundtrack inspired by the voices of people experiencing loneliness and accompanied by original music from Quentin Lachapele.

This workshop will take place using the Zoom platform and starts on Friday 9 October at 18:00 (GMT) ending at 19:00 (GMT)

Full online workshop schedule:

Moving Together is a creative collaboration between anthropology researcher Dr Bronwyn Tarr and physical theatre company Justice in Motion. It explores loneliness and the power of movement & music to affect how distant or connected we feel.

Moving Together is supported by TORCH (The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities) at the University of Oxford. The Theatres Seed Fund is part of ‘Connecting Researchers with Oxfordshire Theatres’, a knowledge exchange project generously funded by the UKRI’s Higher Education Innovation Fund.
