The phone vibrates…a message…times, numbers, deals…and a warning. All in code. So young and so troubled. At home, in school, on the street. There’s no way out – is there?
CODE, Justice in Motion’s urban odyssey into County Lines and Knife Crime, is a spectacular blend of physical theatre, parkour and trials bike stunts with live rap and music. On an urban playground, skilled athletes and performers show what is happening to our young people exploited by organised drug crime gangs.
We are seeking three new team members for our 2026 Tour (May – January 2027) which includes Norway, Edinburgh Festival Fringe and various locations across England. We are looking for people who have an interest in social justice and community, to join the crew of CODE.
Please indicate what role(s) you want to apply for, and what additional skills you may have that could add to the team, and to cover other roles. We work as a team, so however we can plug you in, we will give you an opportunity to work with us in other roles that could play to your strengths as well.
We are currently recruiting for the following roles:
Production Manager
The Production Manager is a central member of the touring company, responsible for the safe and efficient installation, operation, and get-out of the CODE set and technical systems at each venue or site. You will be the primary technical contact for promoters and venue/site managers, and you will lead the on-site production team throughout get-in, performance days, and get-out.
Stage Manager (male)
Together with the Production Manager and crew member is responsible for the erecting and taking down of the set. Further responsibilities include safety, during the show on stage, props management, cast management and timekeeping.
The stage manager also appears on stage as a performer (at various points as drug addicts), and in the role of Nicky’s absent father, in memories. Good acting skills and movement quality required.
Costume Supervisor
As Costume Supervisor, you will maintain costume continuity, assist with quick changes, handle repairs and upkeep, and manage laundry throughout the tour.
We encourage, and especially welcome applications from people of diverse ethnicities and backgrounds. Travel bursaries are available for selected applicants to make auditions as accessible as possible.
Successful applicants will be required to attend all rehearsal dates and be available for specified dates during the touring period. Details will be available during the audition workshop. Performers will be paid at Equity standard rates. Travel, accommodation and subs are covered during rehearsals and on tour.
