Monica was born in Spain and is a classically trained flamenco and Spanish dancer. She studies in Valladolid under the acclaimed dancer and choreographer Mariemma, director of the Mariemma Ballet de España.
Monica trained for ten years in a range of styles, from escuela bolera, jotas, sevillanas, to flamenco. She came to Oxford to pursue her University studies and joined the Oxford Contemporary Dance School in 1998, and Biserk Dance Company in 2003. Now married with 4 children, she is still performing regularly and until recently was teaching some of our regular dance classes.
